We are Chester Le Street RFC
Chester-le-Street RFC is a community rugby club, formed in 1979 by former pupils and Teachers of Lord Lawson School. The club has been based in Riverside Park, Chester-le-Street since its inception, and currently runs two senior teams, and is also hoping to relaunch its junior section.
We play in Durham and Northumberland 3 and is well known for its social activities and the warm welcome it extends to new members and guests.
The club is currently based in the Donald Owen Clarke Centre along with Chester-le-Street Amateur Rowing Club and Chester-le-Street Sea Cadets, but the club has big plans for its future and hopes to provide better facilities for its members and guests by securing a move to its own area with a purpose built clubhouse and pitch, elsewhere in Riverside Park, with the help of Durham County Council and The Rugby Football Union in the near future.
Chester-le-Street Rugby Club is ran as a not for profit Community Interest Company, which means any money it makes is reinvested in the club for the good of its members and the sport of rugby in general.
